Today’s system is stacked against the working people of this country. Too many American families play by the rules; they try to get a head by going to school, often at great cost; they work hard all week, and yet barely make ends meet. I will work for a fair tax structure that removes excessive loopholes and tax cuts for wealthy citizens and corporations. I will increase the minimum wage, as we did three times when I was governor. I favor expanding health care to all Americans. I will invest more in public education, and make college more affordable by increasing Pell grants and reducing interest on college loans.  And I believe in real immigration reform- I was an original co-sponsor of the bipartisan McCain-Kennedy bill, the original DREAM Act.
